DIY PVC Branch Support
Not unlike humans, trees and plants experience life cycles. However, trees & plants experience these life cycles through seasons. Like humans, trees/plants require water, nutrition (nutrients) and sleep. During the winter most trees & plants go through a dormancy period (sleep). This dormancy period will help in determining the future quality of the plant's health and productivity.
One of the preparations that might need to be made to help winterize your trees & plants is branch support or bracing. Depending on the age, health, how newly planted, and size of the root system, weather can wreak havoc on a tree or plant. Severe weather conditions such as heavy winds, rain, frost and snow can irreversibly damage them. Although a layer of
snow on trees is a good for moisture insulation, too much weight can damage and break branches.
A simple and inexpensive solution is our DIY PVC Branch Support. This quick solution can also be used through the growing season to help support branches that are overloaded with fruit. With just a few items and PVC pipe, you can help keep the
integrity of your tree's branches through the fruit bearing season as well as through the winter. Here's what you'll need to get started.
Supplies:
1. (1) 1- ¼” Wye 45-Degree Fitting (#204-U)
